5 Things to Watch in College Football Week 10

Publish Date: November 1, 2026

College football is back in full swing. There are always things to watch every week of the season. Here are 5 things to watch in college football Week 10.

1. Miami at Notre Dame

Last season, Miami defeated Notre Dame early in the season. Later on, Miami got into the CFP over Notre Dame. The two teams meet up this weekend in a game that could decide the Fighting Irish’s CFP fate. Miami is undefeated, but don’t have a lot of good wins, although their victory over Wake Forest is aging well. Darian Mensah is playing like the best quarterback in the country as the Hurricanes are scoring 47.6 points per game. The defense struggled in Week 9 against UNC, but has plenty of talent.

Notre Dame lost to BYU earlier this season on the road and are now desperate for a win. They will be looking for revenge. CJ Carr has also been playing well at quarterback as well, and the Fighting Irish score 40.4 points a game themselves. The defense has been one of the best in the country, as they give up just 13.4 points per game. Notre Dame is hosting and could have the edge despite having a loss already this season.

2. Georgia at Ole Miss

Georgia will travel to Ole Miss in a matchup of teams that met twice last season. The Bulldogs were knocked out of the CFP by Ole Miss, but beat the Rebels last regular season. Gunner Stockton has played solidly and doesn’t get the credit he deserves, as he has operated the offense well with the team scoring 41 points per game. While the defense isn’t vintage Georgia, they have been solid, ranking 11th in the country in points allowed per game. At times, they look like the best team in the country.

Ole Miss has two losses and will want to pick up this win to give them a good path to the CFP. The Rebels have big wins over Missouri and LSU this season. Trinidad Chambliss has shouldered a lot of the offensive load, especially with running back Kewan Lacy dealing with injuries. Chambliss has led the team to scoring 37.1 points per game. The defense has been up and down this season, but will need to bring their best against Georgia. The winner of this game has to feel great about their CFP chances.

3. Kentucky at Tennessee

Kentucky and Tennessee play in a rivalry game that, like the other games on this list, has major CFP implications. The Wildcats have just one loss, to Alabama, this season. The offense has scored 32.9 points (ranked 40th), while the defense gives up 24.8 points per game (ranked 70th). While they may not be elite in any category, the Wildcats have found ways to win games and put themselves in a good spot heading into November.

The Volunteers have losses to Texas and South Carolina, but their win over Alabama has really bolstered their chances of getting back into the CFP picture. Tennessee’s offense has struggled at times, especially with figuring out who to play at quarterback, as they rank 46th in points per game. The Volunteers have a good defense, which allows 16.3 points per game. The stakes are high and this rivalry game is one of many great ones to watch this weekend.

4. Alabama at LSU

The Crimson Tide play LSU in the first week of November in another game that will have plenty of say in who makes the CFP. Alabama has scored a lot this season, averaging 38.2 points per game. The defense has had some issues, as they give up 21.3 points per game. After losing two straight, Alabama defeated Texas A&M before heading into a bye. Can they fix some things before traveling to LSU?

LSU has losses to Ole Miss and Kentucky this season and need to get some big wins down the stretch to make the CFP in the first year of Lane Kiffin’s tenure. The Tigers are scoring 40.1 points per game and Sam Leavitt has played better in the last few games at quarterback. Defensively, the Tigers rank 16th in points allowed per game this season. They’ll have their hands full with Alabama, but are capable of having a good game. With a tough schedule coming up, LSU getting this win is far from a clincher to the CFP, but it would set them up well for the last three games of the season.

5. The Holy War

One of the best rivalry games in the country is the Holy War between BYU and Utah. This season, there are added stakes, as BYU has just one loss and Utah is undefeated. BYU made headlines by beating Notre Dame, but lost the next week to UCF. Quarterback Bear Bachmeier has carried the offense to 32.6 points per game, which is impressive given that running back LJ Martin has been out for the last few weeks. The defense has been solid, as they allow 18.8 points per game.

Utah’s offense has been fun to watch this season, as they utilize multiple quarterbacks and unique formations. They averaged 38.9 points per game, ranking 11th in the country. The defense has also been pretty strong, as they give up 15.9 points per game and rank 15th in the country. Utah will want to get this win, as they would be two more wins away from virtually locking up a spot in the CFP at that rate.
