2025 Xbox Bowl Preview

Publish Date: December 8, 2025

The 2025 Xbox Bowl features the 7-5 Missouri State Bears and the 6-6 Arkansas State Red Wolves. Here is the 2025 Xbox Bowl Preview.

Missouri State Bears

Missouri State won seven games and are eligible for a bowl game in their first year of transitioning to the FBS because there were not enough 6-6 teams to fill all the bowl slots. They defeated one bowl-eligible team this season: FIU. All five of the Bears’ losses were to teams that qualified for bowl games: USC, SMU, WKU, Kennesaw State and Louisiana Tech.

The Bears score 25.4 points per game, which is tied for 82nd in the FBS. They pass for 273.9 (ranked 22nd) and rush for 117.9 (ranked 113th) yards per game.

Jacob Clark has had a solid first full season as a starting quarterback, passing for 2,895 yards, 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions on 65.1 percent completion. Four players have at least 400 receiving yards on the season. Jimariyae Robinson has 536 yards and six touchdowns, while Dash Luke has 471 yards and three touchdowns to lead the team.

Shomari Lawrence has led the rushing attack with 964 yards and seven touchdowns on the season. Behind him Ramone Green Jr. has had 256 rushing yards and one touchdown.

The Bears concede 28.3 points per game, which ranks 90th in the country. They allow 224.6 passing yards and 160.2 rushing yards per game. Kanye Young leads the team with 74 total tackles, while Jared Lloyd has 73. DJ Wesloak has led the pass rush with four sacks. Jordan Dunbar has been impressive in the secondary with 11 passes defended and two interceptions.

Arkansas State Red Wolves

Arkansas State won six games to make their second straight bowl game. Three of their six wins were over bowl-eligible teams: Texas State, South Alabama and Troy. The Red Wolves only lost to one team that didn’t qualify for a bowl game: UL Monroe.

The Red Wolves score 24.4 points per game, ranking 88th in the FBS. They pass for 257.2 yards (ranked 33rd) and rush for 127.5 yards per game (ranked 102nd).

Jaylen Raynor is an experienced quarterback, who has passed for 3,073 yards, 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions on 67.2 percent completion. Four receivers have over 250 receiving yards on the season. The leading receiver is Corey Rucker, who has 69 catches for 866 yards and three touchdowns this season.

Three players have carried the rushing offense for the Red Wolves. Devin Spencer has 523 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Behind him, Kenyon Clay has rushed for 470 yards and three touchdowns. Raynor uses his legs well from the quarterback position, adding 434 rushing yards and seven touchdowns.

Defensively, the Red Wolves allow 328 yards per game, ranking 83rd in the country. They give up 236.8 passing yards (ranked 98th) and 178.5 rushing yards per game (ranked 105th). Linebacker Aaron Alexander has led the team with 88 total tackles. Ethan Hassler and Demarcus Hendricks are tied for the team lead with 6.5 sacks. Avante Dickerson has shown some great potential with his four passes defended and two interceptions.

Prediction

Missouri State has had a great first season in the FBS and has a nice passing attack. The Red Wolves have players like Dickerson to combat that. Raynor’s dual-threat abilities can help lead Arkansas State to a win.
