Publish Date: December 15, 2025

The 2025 Scooter’s Coffee Frisco Bowl features the 10-3 UNLV Rebels and the 8-4 Ohio Bobcats. Here is the 2025 Scooter’s Coffee Frisco Bowl Preview.

UNLV Rebels

UNLV won 10 games to qualify for their third straight bowl game. They defeated three bowl-eligible teams this season: Miami (Ohio), Utah State and Hawai’i. All three of their losses were to teams that made bowl games: New Mexico and Boise State (twice).

The Rebels score 35.9 points per game, ranking 16th in the country. They pass for 256 yards (ranked 34th) and rush for 203.4 yards (ranked 18th) per game.

Virginia transfer Anthony Colandrea has started for the Rebels at quarterback this season. He has passed for 3,275 yards, 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions on 66.2 percent completion. Six players have at least 200 receiving yards for the Rebels. Jade Bradley has been the top receiver with 54 catches for 869 yards and four touchdowns. Troy Meire and Daejon Reynolds have also been quality targets with 505 and 470 receiving yards, respectively.

Four players have helped the Rebels’ rushing attack in a large way. Jai’Den Thomas has led the team with 985 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. Colandrea has been a dual-threat this season, as he has 621 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. Keyvone Lee and Jaylon Glover have aided the run game with 433 and 379 rushing yards apiece.

On defense, the Rebels allow 28.85 points per game, ranking 93rd in the nation. They concede 175.2 rushing yards (ranked 99th) and 249.3 passing yards (ranked 115th) per game. Marsel McDuffie leads the team with 103 total tackles. Tunmise Adeleye has been good at getting after the passer with six sacks on the year. Aamaris Brown has been great in the secondary with seven passes defended and four interceptions.

Ohio Bobcats

The Bobcats won eight games to make their eighth-straight bowl game. They defeated one bowl-eligible team this season: Miami (Ohio). They lost to two teams that didn’t make a bowl game in Rutgers and Ball State. Head coach Brian Smith is on leave and defensive coordinator John Hauser is the interim coach.

Ohio scores 28.7 points per game, which ties them for 60th in the FBS. They pass for 187.7 yards (ranked 104th) and rush for 228.8 yards (ranked ninth) per game.

Parker Navarro returned at quarterback for the Bobcats this season. He passed for 2,232 yards, 14 touchdowns and 10 interceptions on 61.5 percent completion. Three pass-catchers have over 250 receiving yards on the season. Their star is Chase Hendricks, who has 67 catches for 950 yards and seven touchdowns.

Three players have lifted the rushing load for the Bobcats. Sieh Bangura leads the team with 1,243 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. Navarro has some mobility at quarterback, as he rushed for 843 yards and eight touchdowns. Behind Bangura, Duncan Brune has posted 561 rushing yards and eight touchdowns.

The Bobcats’ defense gives up 22.92 points per game, ranking them 52nd in the country. Ohio gives up 147.9 rushing yards (ranked 65th) and 210.1 passing yards (ranked 51st) per game. Jalen Thomeson leads the team with 80 total tackles from his safety position. Jay Crable has generated pressure on opposing quarterbacks, tallying six sacks on the season. Tank Pearson has shown his ball skills with eight passes defended and two interceptions.

Prediction

Ohio has the offensive weapons to take advantage of UNLV’s defense. Between Navarro, Bangura and Hendricks, they’ll have enough firepower to put up points.  Their defense should get enough stops to pull off the win.

Ohio Bobcats 35 UNLV Rebels 31
