Ryan Nembhard Creighton
Nembhard will have an immediate impact role for Creighton replacing Marcus Zegarowski at the point guard position. He will be the catalyst for the Creighton offense with his ability to distribute the basketball at a high level. Furthermore, his vision in the open floor will have an impact right away to make Creighton remain elite offensively, as well as his ability to play within ball screens to make decisions at a high level. His scoring ability will be secondary, but when necessary, he will effectively get to the rim and make floaters with great consistency. The overall feel of the game of Nembhard is at an elite level and he will develop into one of the best point guards in college basketball.
Tyrese Hunter Iowa State
Hunter has a tremendous opportunity to make a significant impact on Iowa State coming off a difficult season. Furthermore, he will bring very good athleticism to the backcourt of Iowa State and make an impact on the open floor. Additionally, he will score basketball at a high level, as well as, being a guy who can distributor the basketball effectively. Also, he will be dynamic using ball screens to create for his shot or get to the basket. His shooting will continue to develop into a strength over the course of his freshman season. Hunter will be one of the best guards in the Big 12 next season.
Tamar Bates Indiana
Bates has an opportunity to be an impact freshman right away for Indiana. First off, he will bring the skillset offensively with the ability to score all over the floor. Additionally, he will have quickness with the basketball being able to make plays on the open floor as well as having the size to finish in the lane. Continued, he will bring consistency from the perimeter providing shooting for Indiana off the bench. Next, he is capable of playing on or off the basketball as a scoring guard or distributor. He will provide energy on the defensive end and with his activity can force turnovers into transition offense. Bates will be one of the best freshmen in the country next season for Indiana.
Malaki Branham Ohio State
Branham will have a great opportunity to get in the lineup immediately for Ohio State with the loss of Duane Washington Jr. Furthermore, he will provide good size on the perimeter with his ability to attack the basket at a high level. Additionally, he will be able to provide more ball-handling for Ohio State with a lack of a true point guard, as well as, his ability to play on the open floor will be key for Ohio State offensively. Next, he will be an immediate impact defender with his size and will rebound the basketball on both ends at a high level. Malaki Branham will have a great opportunity to be an impact guard for Ohio State.
Daeshun Ruffin Ole Miss
Ruffin will be one of the most exciting guards in the country next season and be one of the best freshmen in college basketball. Next, he will have great toughness and bring quickness to the open floor. Additionally, he has the ability to be a bucket be able to create space to hunt down his shot. Also, he will be a catalyst for the Ole Miss offense with his ability to score from the mid-range and perimeter. Further, he will bring good stability to the point guard position, giving them that prescience. Ruffin will get after defensively with his strength and be a guy who plays in the passing lanes creating turnovers. Ruffin will be an impact freshman in the SEC next season.
