Tom Izzo and the top-ranked Spartans will be without one of their best players until at least January. According to Michigan State basketball reporter Chris Solari, Josh Langford will be out indefinitely as his foot-injury from last season has resurfaced.
The senior was the team’s second-leading scorer a year ago, and is one of Tom Izzo’s most important pieces to a team with title aspirations.
Langford was off to a solid start in 2018 before missing the last three months due to said injury. His best performance last year was in the victory against Texas in Las Vegas, where he scored 29 points on 5/6 from three-point range.
The Spartans open the season with #2 Kentucky in the Champions Classic in New York.
