Sophomore guard Cartier Diarra’s hand injury will require surgery, according to head coach Bruce Weber. He sustained the injury in practice a day prior to their road game at Texas. Weber described the injury as a “freakish accident”. Diarra is the Wildcats’ primary back-up point guard, averaging 6.3 points per game and 3.2 rebounds per game.
He played a key role in Kansas State’s run to the Elite Eight a year ago. The Wildcats currently sit atop the Big 12 standings at 8-2.
