The Ivy League has decided to cancel their conference tournament due to concerns of the Coronavirus according to Jon Rothstein. Yale, the regular-season champion of the Ivy League, will represent the conference in the NCAA Tournament.
This is the first college basketball event canceled due to Coronavirus, otherwise known as COVID-19, as it continues to spread to America.
Yale gets the automatic for the NCAA Tournament after posting an 11-3 record in conference play and 23-7 record overall. The Ivy League has just four teams in their conference tournament, which this year would’ve included Harvard, Princeton and Penn along with Yale.
There is no word on if this could change plans for other conference tournaments or the NCAA Tournament at this time.
