
In a statement from Georgetown University, it was announced on Monday night that James Akinjo and Josh LeBlanc are no longer with the team for the rest of the season.
Akinjo was the starting point guard for the team and averaged 13.4 points per game. He was leading the team with 4.4 assists per game as well. His presence in the backcourt was supposed to help Georgetown compete for an NCAA Tournament bid.
LeBlanc averaged 7.2 points per game and 2.7 rebounds per game. He played 19.2 minutes per game and was leading the team in field goal percentage at 59.3 percent.
Both players were in the top six in minutes played on the team.
Georgetown is currently 4-3 on the season.
