Hernandez’s name was part of the FBI investigation into corruption within college basketball recruiting. As a result, the NCAA stated he received improper benefits from an agent.
Last season, Hernandez averaged 11.4 points and 6.7 rebound per game. Miami is 9-10 on the season, having struggled without Hernandez.
Hernandez was formerly known as Dewan Huell before changing his last name.
