(8) Michigan State at (6) Duke
(7) Kansas vs (20) Kentucky
Both of these teams are coming off a loss during the first week of the season and are looking for a big bounce-back performance. B.J. Boston has shown his ability to score the basketball at a high level and rebound well. He will need to continue to be the lead scorer for Kentucky moving forward. Olivier Sarr will have a major advantage in this game if David McCormick is out for Kansas. The play of Christian Braun has been very good giving Kansas a perimeter scorer. Marcus Garrett will need to be better offensively for Kansas and need to defend at a high level against the Kentucky guards. This could be a game where Isiah Jackson for Kentucky has a massive impact with the limited talent in the frontcourt for Kansas in this game. Lastly, Kansas will potentially play a lot of five-out leading to an inability to rebound and score in the paint consistently. Kentucky will bounce back in this game with Olivier Sarr having a big-time performance.
