Virginia Tech head coach Buzz Williams has accepted a job offer from Texas A&M, according to multiple sources.
Since he arrived in 2014, Williams has taken the Hokies to four consecutive postseasons, including three straight trips to the NCAA Tournament. Last weekend, Virginia Tech fell to ACC foe Duke in the Round of 16, their first Sweet 16 appearance since 1967.
At just 47 years old, Williams is an up-and-coming coach who’s had success already at Marquette and now Virginia Tech. The resources and money that Texas A&M can provide are next to none.
Seton Hall’s Kevin Willard has been rumored to have been interested in the now open Virginia Tech job.
