Following a DUI arrest on Friday night, West Virginia head basketball coach Bob Huggins has decided to retire. He released a statement on social media.
The criminal complaint said Huggins blew a .210 on the breathalyzer and was arrested in Pittsburgh.
Huggins was suspended earlier this offseason for his comments on a Cincinnati radio show. He also had to complete sensitivity training and a $1 million salary reduction.
During his 38-year coaching career, Huggins posted a 863-369 record. He coached at Akron, Cincinnati, Kansas State and West Virginia. Huggins made the Final Four at both Cincinnati and West Virginia.
All West Virginia players will be given an additional 30 days to consider transferring in the portal.
