Hunter Dickinson
Dickinson has the ability to return to Michigan for his sophomore season and be in contention for National Player of the Year. Furthermore, age is definitely a factor in the decision for Dickinson being 20 already. Next, his decision will be vital to the success of Michigan who will have the ability to be one of the best teams in the country with him, along with having a stout perimeter in Devante Jones transferring in and Eli Brooks. They also have additions to the frontcourt in Caleb Houstan and Moussa Diabate. Therefore, the separation with and without Dickinson will be large for Michigan going from National Championship contenders to a very solid Big Ten team.
Kofi Cockburn
The Cockburn decision is very intriguing because of the unknown of his destination if he was to return to college basketball. There is a potential return to Illinois, which would create a dominant point guard to center combination again with Andre Curbelo. Continued, Kentucky could be a landing spot for Cockburn with ties to both former Illinois assistants in Orlando Antigua and Chin Coleman. Additionally, a move to Kentucky would create a dynamic frontcourt of Oscar Tshiebwe, Kofi Cockburn and Daimion Collins, along with the continued additions for Kentucky coming through the transfer portal with CJ Fredrick, Kellan Grady and Shavir Wheeler. Any team that is in the mix on Cockburn would get a dominant interior presence.
Dawson Garcia
Garcia is still in the mix to remain in the NBA draft. However, if he returns to college basketball he will be one of the best forwards in the sport. Garcia is in the transfer portal with his options being a return to Marquette, North Carolina, Illinois and Arizona. Furthermore, a return to Marquette would definitely make him the focal point of their offensive identity. Continued, a move to North Carolina would be with a very solid frontcourt to be even more versatile with Garcia. The Illinois factor is intriguing with a guard like Andre Curbelo and if the frontcourt loses Kofi Cockburn. As for Arizona, the fit could be very good under Tommy Lloyd with having two versatile forwards in Garcia and Azuolas Tubelis. Garcia has major potential and could benefit from one more year in college basketball.
Johnny Juzang
Juzang had a breakout performance in UCLA’s run to the Final Four is one of the best players in college basketball. Now, he could return to be a National Player of the Year candidate with a top five team in UCLA waiting for him. Furthermore, Juzang did not have a strong performance at the NBA Combine and seems best suited to return to UCLA. Therefore, if this is the case, he will have a major influence offensively on UCLA. Along with, his shooting from the perimeter and scoring off the dribble. The wings at UCLA will be loaded with Juzang joining Jaime Jaquez and Peyton Watson. Juzang’s overall growth as a complete player will be key in raising his NBA draft stock.
Aaron Wiggins
Wiggins has a key decision to make with the NBA Draft. He has the size and scoring ability to find a role at some point on an NBA roster or returning to Maryland. Continued, if he returns to Maryland he will be a part of a very good perimeter of Eric Ayala and Fatts Russell. Additionally, there will be expectations of Maryland being a top 15 team and competing to win the Big Ten. Wiggins would be one of the best wings in college basketball and possibly be Big Ten Player of the Year. The decision on Wiggins seems to be 50/50 and would be a major win for Maryland if he returns.
