Wes Miller UNC Greensboro

Miller is viewed as the best young head coach in the country. He has had tremendous success at UNC Greensboro for the past decade. Over the past four seasons, he has competed at the top of the Southern Conference which has been very competitive with Bob Richey (Furman) and Steve Forbes (ETSU). He has made the NCAA tournament one time in 2017-18 with two NIT appearances as well. Furthermore, Miller has the North Carolina connection and could be viewed as the potential replacement for Roy Williams in years to come.

LSU reinstates men's basketball coach Will Wade from suspension ...Will Wade LSU

Wade has gotten off to a terrific start in his coaching career with really good success at Chattanooga, VCU and now at LSU. He has recruited at a very high level bringing in 5-star talent to LSU consistently keeping them in the mix for the top of the SEC. He has also won the SEC regular-season title in 2018-2019. Now, Wade has had issues with NCAA and the FBI scandal investigation into college basketball and will have to get past that smoothly to continue to rise up the coaching ranks. Wade has a high major experience and has himself set up for massive success to come.

Bob Richey Furman

Richey has been a very good coach in the Southern Conference competing for the top of the league against Wes Miller (UNCG) and Steve Forbes(ETSU). Over the last three seasons at Furman, he has accumulated a record of 73-26 with an NIT appearance. It’s only a matter of time before Richey leads Furman to the NCAA tournament with Steve Forbes leaving the league. This is setting up a battle with Wes Miller and himself to compete year in and year out for the conference’s NCAA Tournament bid. Richey has the track record to eventually get a high-level job and be a factor for years to come.

Travis Steele on a bitter end and a 'bright' future for Xavier hoopsTravis Steele Xavier

Steele has the potential to be the next Xavier coach to have massive success and then land a higher-level job. The previous coaches have all achieved that in Thad Matta, Sean Miller and Chris Mack. Steele’s teams play with really good toughness and defense which will translate to great success. He hasn’t won over 20 games yet at Xavier and must get it rolling back at Xavier like Chris Mack had it going. All expectations are for Steele to be the next great Xavier coach and get a higher-level job.

Todd Golden San Francisco

Golden is a star in the making at San Francisco and has great success with his implementation of analytics. Furthermore, he had great success in his first season at San Francisco going 22-12. This is a coach who will rise in the coaching ranks with his energy and ability to implement in analytics. His team will be a major factor to stay at the top part of the West Coast Conference along with Gonzaga, Saint Mary’s and BYU. Golden is the youngest of this group but might separate himself the most with his analytic approach.
