As the Call of Duty: Cold War season comes to a close, the Call of Duty Championship is drawing near. It will be one for the books for sure, with amazing talent. So here are some of the players you need to watch at the CDL Championship from each team.
Atlanta FaZe – Simp the Slayer
It is easy to say that Chris “Simp” Lehr is truly the best player in Call of Duty this season. However, what he brings to the table for Atlanta could be very important in maintaining their Call of Duty Championship hopes.
Simp is currently fourth in Hardpoint K/D, 7th in Search and Destroy, and 1st in control K/D. His hardpoint play could be the difference between FaZe winning and losing as they have recently been struggling in respawns. Overall, Simp could quite literally carry his team to a championship as he did for eUnited two years ago at COD Champs 2019.
Dallas Empire: Last Year’s MVP, Shotzzy
For Shotzzy, his year started off rough as Dallas placed poor due to the situation with Huke. However, after Huke left, Shotzzy showed the CDL community that he is still one of the best players in the game.
This was due to his consistency as he posted at least a 1.0 K/D in every game mode being the SMG player for the Empire. In turn, with the additional leadership of Crimsix, he could lead the Empire to back-to-back championships.
Florida Mutineers – Sky High Skyz
Cesar “Skyz” Bueno is still considered a dark horse to be the best AR player in the game. Which is why he is so dangerous. Many teams underestimate his play as he is known to be a slower player. However, with a top three hardpoint K/D, Skyz could very well be the leader the Florida Mutineers need in order to shock the world.
Los Angeles Thieves – Kylo Kenny
Kenny has been the leader for the Thieves when the team was at its worst. In which, he also happens to be their best player. This is as he is showing top form in each match he plays by playing lights out in hardpoint and search and destroy maps.
Even though the Los Angeles Thieves have made countless roster moves, one thing has been a constant. That being Kenny. Kenny could truly be the savior and leader the Los Angeles Thieves need to get on top.
Minnesota Rokkr – The ROTY Standy
Standy is considered to be the best rookie the league has ever seen. After this last major, it showed as he carried the Rokkr to wins over FaZe and Toronto in shocking upsets. Thus proving that is the key and face the Rokkr needed in order to become World Champions of Call of Duty.
New York Subliners – The French Phenom Hydra
To start, Hydra came onto the scene with a chip on his shoulder by trying to prove to everybody that the gamble New York took on him was a good one. He proved it by having the best hardpoint K/D in the league. And after the recent departure of Clayster, Hydra could be the key to New York winning their first championship.
OpTic Chicago – King Scump
Although he is not the best on the team, that being Dashy. He is the heart and soul of the team. The leader that OpTic needs. Scump almost directly dictates whether or not they lose the map. He is having one of the best seasons of his career as he is positive for all three game modes, being top five in SnD.
Scump has always come up short, having 4 third-place finishes. He could dictate and control his team’s destiny to be world champions so he can be labeled the greatest of all time for leading OpTic to a world championship.
Toronto Ultra – Bance Will Make You Dance
Bance faced some early struggles as he was actually going to quit Call of Duty due to some mental issues he had in his life. However, after a slow recovery and a pickup of Insight. Bance and the Toronto Ultra are proving to be one of the top teams in the world as Bance is proving to be the comeback player of the year and could be the important figure the Ultra needs to become the champions of the world.
All in all, the Call of Duty Championship is going to be full of excitement and great games. One thing is for sure, these players to watch could be the difference between being a world champion and losing.
