February 22 is nearly here and OpTic Gaming LA will finally get a chance to play after a disappointing opening weekend. The format has changed since the Minnesota event to a tournament style bracket. OpTic has a tough matchup early and will need to prove themselves against the Atlanta Faze. However, comeback stories do not come easy and OpTic is poised for an exciting one this weekend.
CDL Atlanta Preview
Atlanta Faze: 2-0
Atlanta did not play last event, just like OpTic, and they are looking to make a statement early at their home event. Neither of these teams have played against each other in a LAN setting and viewers should be excited to see how they match up. If OpTic wants to stand a chance against a top team like this, they will need to take map 1 early and take Atlanta by surprise. Look for Dashy to spark the hot start that OpTic needs.
Player to Watch: TJHaly
TJHaly had a disappointing performance in the opening weekend. In a big series against the Chicago Huntsmen, he simply disappeared in the kills category. TJHaly’s talent level does not match up with a performance like that and viewers should expect him to bounce back and play very well. His play in respawn should come alive and push the team to some easy map wins.
Predicition: Atlanta Faze wins 3-2
OpTic Gaming will either play London or Florida after this match depending on the results. London would provide an interesting match after the 3-2 finish in favor of London opening weekend.
