The reimagined Backyard Baseball 2026 launched on PC on July 9, 2026. Since then, PC players have been able to play the arcade classic, create and win leagues with over 40 characters, learn their skills, and build the perfect team. However, the same doesn’t apply to console players. Originally, the console versions of Backyard Baseball on Nintendo Switch 1+2, PlayStation, and Xbox were planned for later in the summer. However, Fall is here, and there are still no signs of a Backyard Baseball 2026 Xbox release; the same goes for its appearance on Nintendo Switch or PS5. So the question that gamers are asking is: When exactly is the Backyard Baseball console release date?
As of today, there is sadly no confirmation that Backyard Baseball will release on consoles; however, a console release is still planned. While console players can now rescind their pre-orders, Backyard Sports has released an official statement explaining the decision. As stated by the official Backyard Baseball page via Reddit:
“We do not yet have a confirmed launch date. We made the decision not to sit on fans’ pre-orders and instead allow their orders to be refunded. We want you to have the game when it’s right and ready, and until then, hold on to your money. Backyard is coming to consoles, and we promise to keep you updated as we make progress toward those releases.”
Once console players can get their hands on the title, here are all the characters you can unlock to catch up to PC players.
