I have been an avid gamer for many years. Video games have brought me much joy over those years and many of them for very different reasons. They are what I do to relax. They have allowed for me to expand my mind and become much more creative. They have also driven my love for history and strategy. Overall I feel like video games have had a very positive impact on my life. Making this list was not an easy task. Because I have played so many games in my life it is hard to just narrow them down to 10. This will not be a list of similar games mind you. This is a list of games spanning different genres and many different gaming systems. December 29 Bowl Preview Armed Forces Bowl: California Golden Bears (7-5) vs. Air Force Falcons (8-5), 2:00 P.M. Cal has arguably the best quarterback in the country and still only managed to get seven wins. Quarterback Jared Goff is a potential first overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft and threw for 4252 yards and 37 touchdowns. Goff’s arm has been the reason the Golden Bears were able to average 36.5 points per game, because they didn’t have much of arunning game. Cal’s defense has been the reason that they lost five games on the season. They allow 30.8 points pergame, due to a lackluster rush defense, which allows over 200 yards per game. Air Force lost in the Mountain West Championship to San Diego State, but still had a successful season. Their 321.8 rushing yards per game is the second best in the country because of their triple option offense. The Falcons defense has been very complimentary to their offense by allowing just 190 passing yards per game and 23 points per game. This game pits strength against strength with Goff going up against the good pass defense of Air Force. Goff has only had one bad game all year, and that won’t repeat itself in this game. Cal will put up too many points for Air Force to keep up. Final Score: California 43 Air Force 29 Russell Athletic Bowl: #10 North Carolina Tarheels (10-2) at #17 Baylor Bears (9-3), 5:30 P.M. North Carolina had a chance to be in the College Football Playoff had they beaten Clemson in the ACC Championship Game, but lost to finish their regular season with ten wins. Quarterback Marquise Williams had two bad games in the team’s two losses making him the key for the Tar Heels. He had a successful season by running and throwing the ball to help North Carolina average 40.9 points per game. The Tarheel defense was improved this season under defensive coordinator Gene Chizik. They allow fewer than 200 passing yards, but more than 200 rushing yards per game. Baylor was so desperate for a healthy quarterback at the end of the season, that they were moving wide receivers to quarterback. The third string quarterback Chris Johnson will start the game, because he is the best quarterback healthy. He was the reason that Baylor beat Oklahoma State, which was a big win. To go along with Johnson, they have a great running back, Shock Linwood, and the best wide receiver in college football, Corey Coleman. Even with a third string quarterback, the offense will play fine. Baylor’s defense was average this season, but does have two stars on the defensive line. Defensive end Shawn Oakman is athletically gifted and great at getting to the quarterback. Defensive tackle Andrew Billings has a quick burst after the snap and is very disruptive. This game will come down to the best offense as there will be a lot of points scored. Baylor’s run game will be able to exploit the North Carolina rush defense. Billings and Oakman will force Williams to make bad decisions and have his third bad game of the season. Final Score: Baylor 55 UNC 39 Arizona Bowl: Nevada Wolfpack (6-6) vs. Colorado State Rams (7-5), 7:30 P.M. Nevada had six wins with two games to play, but lost their last two games. They have a good rushing offense which averages 205 yards per game. The Wolfpack offense doesn’t put a lot of points on the board, but running back James Butler racked up 1156 rushing yards and does move the chains. Nevada’s defense is average, but is vulnerableto good running offenses....

NFL Week 13 Predictions ATS Green Bay Packers (-3) over Detroit Lions  –Detroit and Green Bay prepare to play each other for the second time in three weeks. Detroit won the first match-up and made Aaron Rodgers struggle.  I think this will be another close game, but the Packers will come out on top.  Going to be a break out game for Randall Cobb. Chicago Bears (-7) over San Francisco 49ers –Blaine Gabbert has been more efficient than Colin Kaepernick, but the Niners are still dead last in points per game averaging almost 14 points. The Bears are still in playoff contention after beating the Packers on Thanksgiving. Forte and Langford will be a hard duo for the Niners to stop. Cincinnati Bengals (-9.5) over Cleveland Browns – Josh McCown was officially ruled out for the season with a collarbone injury.  It looks like Austin Davis might get the start against a very good Bengals defense. Not even the home crowd can help this team out. If there’s a prop where you can bet Austin Davis will get hurt then take that. Jacksonville Jaguars (+3) over Tennessee Titans – It was just two weeks ago that Jaguars beat the Titans 19-13 as three point favorites. Surprisingly, Jacksonville is  6-5 ATS this year and I think they’ll get the job done again even with Allen Hurns being out. Buffalo Bills (-3) over Houston Texans – The Bills secondary will have its hands full with wide receiver Deandre Hopkins. Through 13 weeks, Hopkins has 1,081 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. The Texans have won four out of their last five and find themselves in the AFC wild card picture. The Bills still have a chance at the wild card too.  I think Rex will get his team ready for a must win at home. Miami Dolphins (-4) over Baltimore Ravens – The Dolphins just fired their offensive coordinator this week. The fact that it took them 13 weeks to realize this is pretty concerning. Remember the last time their head coach got fired and they went on to blow out the Titans. I like the Fins here to finally look like a functioning NFL team.  Carolina Panthers (-7) over New Orleans Saints  – The Saints didn’t score a touchdown last week against the Texans, which broke a 155 game streak of scoring a touchdown. The departure of Sean Payton couldn’t come soon enough. You’ll see Cam dab out there at least twice....

Week 14 Preview Friday December 4 MAC Championship: Bowling Green (9-3) at Northern Illinois (8-4), Ford Field, Detroit, Michigan Bowling Green comes into this game as the favorite. The Falcons have one of the most potent offenses in all of college football that averages 44.2 points per game. Quarterback Matt Johnson has thrown for 4465 yards on the season and could eclipse the 5000-yard mark in a bowl game. His leading receiver is Roger Lewis, who has 1401 receiving yards and has the potential to play in the NFL. The defense has been the issue for the Falcons as they give up 27.8 points per game. Northern Illinois lost their last game to Ohio, but still managed to make the championship game. The Huskies’ offense isn’t as good as it is most seasons. Quarterback Drew Hare is out for the season, making the offense worse. The last two games have been especially tough as Northern Illinois is only averaging 24 points per game in that stretch. The defense has played well this season only allowing 391 yards per game. Bowling Green’s offense will not be stopped in this game, with Johnson and Lewis connecting for multiple scores. Final Score: Bowling Green 39 Northern Illinois 30 Saturday December 5 AAC Championship: #22 Temple (10-2) at #19 Houston (11-1), Houston, Texas Temple has made the American Championship thanks to their defense. Linebacker Tyler Matakevich has been a starfor the Owls and is the active leader in tackles in the FBS. The defense allows 18.8 points per game. Quarterback P.J. Walker has been the key player on offense for the Owls and has thrown for 2450 yards this season. Houston may have lost their chance at an undefeated season when they lost to Uconn two weeks ago, but still has a chance at a conference championship. Quarterback Greg Ward is leading the offense with his dual threat abilities and has accounted for over 3000 total yards. Ward has been banged up as of late, but should be good to go in this game. The Houston defense has played great against the run, holding opponents to 117 rushing yards per game. The Cougars get this game at home and should be able to get their offense rolling early with Ward at quarterback. Houston’s defense will then shut down the Temple running game and get the victory.
