UNLV Starting Quarterback Leaves the Team
UNLV starting quarterback Matthew Sluka has decided to leave the team due to “certain representations” that were not upheld. He will redshirt this season.
According to Carl Reed Jr. all financial commitments were upheld by UNLV. After winning some early games, Sluka hired an agent and tried to get more NIL money out of the school.
Sluka’s father Bob, told ESPN that his son agreed to an NIL deal and no payments have been paid.
His agency mentioned that Sluka was verbally offered $100,000 from a UNLV assistant. According to the agency, none of the money was paid.
Oklahoma to Start Michael Hawkins at Auburn
Oklahoma will start Michael Hawkins at quarterback this week at Auburn. Jackson Arnold was benched during the Tennessee game and Hawkins took over.
Utah State to Join Pac-12
Utah State and the Pac-12 have announced the school will join the conference. They will join Oregon State, Washington State, Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State and San Diego State. The conference will need one more school to be officially recognized as a conference by the NCAA.
LSU LB Harold Perkins Out for Season
LSU star linebacker Harold Perkins is out for the season with a torn ACL. He is a projected early-round draft pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

- Mississippi State quarterback Blake Shapen is out for the season with a shoulder injury.
- Utah quarterback Cam Rising is cleared to play, but getting more velocity on his passes needs to happen.
- Active American Athletic Conference teams commit to building the conference rather than leaving.
- USC DL Bear Alexander will redshirt and transfer. He previously played for Georgia.
