Calen Bullock Strengths
Bullock is a versatile secondary player. He played free safety a lot over the last two years. Bullock also has experience in the slot and at cornerback. That versatility will make him a fit for plenty of defenses who like to move their players around on defense.
He has good ball skills after making plenty of plays in college. Bullock tracks the ball well in the air and attacks the catchpoint. He puts himself in good position and can usually come down with an interception and if not, can at least make a play on the ball.
His range is truly unique for this class. Bullock can be trusted in single or double-high coverage, as he can cover a lot of ground. His speed can allow him to cover receivers as well, as he is able to keep up with them as they make their breaks.
Calen Bullock Weaknesses
Bullock is not a good tackler and won’t show much effort in making big hits. At times Bullock can dive at ankles to make tackles. He can also allow broken tackles when trying to make bigger hits. Bullock can add some strength and more focus to his tackling.
Partially because of his inability to consistently make tackles, Bullock won’t offer much in run support. He is not good playing in the box. Bullock struggles to shed blocks and needs to take better angles to the football as well to have more of an impact.
His eye balance and awareness can improve. In zone, he needs to keep an eye on his zone and the quarterback to maintain better coverage. He also can show better route-recognition. Bullock can fall for double-moves on occasion and has to stay more disciplined.
