Even though the champion has yet to officially release, likely debuting in the next upcoming League of Legends patch, Briar is already receiving a nerf to her kit. This is likely a result of player feedback alongside data compiled from the PBE.
League of Legends Briar nerfs
All upcoming changes
- Crimson Curse (P)
- healing changed from 30%/70% → 35%-65%
- Certain Death (R)
- R damage AP ratio reduced from 120% → 110%
- R damage AD ratio reduced from 120% → 110%
Briar’s ultimate has been caused a lot of concern among the League of Legends community.
For those who don’t know, here is the full description of the Certain Death (ult):
“Briar kicks a hemolith and flies to the location of the first champion hit, marking them as her prey. On landing she deals a large amount of physical damage to everything nearby and causes nearby enemies to Flee. She then enters an empowered Blood Frenzy and will pursue her prey until one of them dies. During this time she gains Armor, Magic Resist, and additional Move Speed.”
This essentially allowed Briar to fly half away across the map, instantly positioning next to the enemy and bursting them down incredibly fast. Though the main mechanic seems to still be the same, it appears Riot nerfed the overall damage scaling alongside Briar’s passive healing.
