The ranked grinders have finally broken the meta. It appears that Rush-comps have taken over the ranked ladder, whether people like it or not. Plenty of players are still playing comfort picks, but as a whole it looks like speed is favored over precision. With the core of Reinhardt, Zarya, and Baptitse, players are finding success by running at the opponent and surviving with immortality field. Lucio helps the tanks get to the enemy front line and Mei helps lock down targets. Luckily hitscan players aren’t locked into Reaper, meaning most players get to play some dynamic characters.
[Previous Tier List: March 2021]
Tier 1: Optimal Heroes with High Win Rates and Synergy
- Baptiste
- Echo
- Lucio
- McCree
- Mei
- Reinhardt
- Zarya
There is a sweet simplicity to Reinhardt/Zarya compositions. Large main tank steps forward, off-tank bubbles main tank, and everyone is happy. The next evolution of Rush is here, thanks to Baptiste. Previously teams preferred Ana or Moira thanks to their offense abilities and powerful ultimates. Now with Immortality Field, the Rush front line can survive much longer than ever before. Combined with the fact that Baptiste can frag out with his ultimate, the support line has a lot of fire power to turn losing fights around.
Tier 2:Â Good Alternatives to Tier 1 and Still Viable Overall
- Ana
- Ashe
- D.Va
- Junkrat
- Mercy
- Moira
- Orisa
- Torbjorn
- Tracer
- Winston
- Wrecking Ball
When players are tired of rushing around low-ground maps, there are still plenty of viable other compositions to run in the ranked ladder. Primarily Wrecking Ball and Winston are the go-to main tanks if no one wants to play Reinhardt. These two synergize extremely well with Zarya despite being dive-focused tanks. D.Va also serves as a good alternative to Zarya for when Mei is causing problems with her Ice Wall. Ashe and Tracer may be knocked out of the top tier for the moment, but they are still very strong picks thanks to their individual play making ability.
Tier 3: Good Situational Picks but Less Strong Overall
- Brigitte
- Doomfist
- Genji
- Hanzo
- Pharah
- Reaper
- Sigma
- Soldier: 76
- Symmetra
- Zenyatta
Thanks to Dannedd Doomfist is slowly sneaking back up the rankings. Doomfist is actually an annoying threat thanks to Zarya bubbles and Baptiste heals. If a team has a competent duo in Doomfist and Zarya, they can easily take over a round. On the other hand, teams can flex over to some double shield compositions with Genji as the focus. Nano-blade is still a strong combination, it just needs plenty of teamwork and communication to make it work in the current environment.
Tier 4: Difficult to Have Success Within the Current Meta
- Bastion
- Roadhog
- Sombra
- Widowmaker
Roadhog and Sombra had some good times above the very bottom tier. Now with Rush on the forefront, Roadhog is just a big old ultimate charging machine. There aren’t a lot of good hook targets, and he just gets ran down by the front line. Sombra can work a little bit, but it takes a really proficient Sombra player and a really receptive team to get results. Try to avoid playing too many cheese comps in the current meta, as players have mastered the Rush gameplay against a whole slew of different compositions.

Uh hi Bryan I have a question, why is Soldier not on this article OR last month’s tier list?
