NFL week 8 is here. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are the NFL week 8 picks against the spread. (Spreads are from tallysight.com as of Wednesday morning)
Last week: 6-7-1, Overall: 56-48-1
Thursday Night
Atlanta Falcons at Carolina Panthers (-2.5)
The Falcons just blew another late lead this past week. Carolina has been playing well all season and may get Christian McCaffrey back for this game.
Pick: Panthers
Sunday Afternoon
Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens (-3.5)
In the biggest matchup of the weekend, the undefeated Steelers take on the Ravens. The Ravens are favored to win, but the Steelers will be able to keep it close. Expect this game to be won by a late score.
Pick: Steelers
Tennessee Titans (-6) at Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals are playing games close, but they still don’t tackle well. Derrick Henry will have a field day against Cincinnati and the Titans will cover.
Pick: Titans
New York Jets at Kansas City Chiefs (-19.5)
The Jets did play better last week against the Bills, but they have played Buffalo close in both their matchups. The Chiefs won’t be stopped by the Jets and will cover, even if this spread is large.
Pick: Chiefs
Los Angeles Rams (-4) at Miami Dolphins
On Monday Night Football, the Rams showed more fight than they have all year. The Dolphins are coming off of a bye, but are also starting rookie Tua Tagovailoa. There will be some growing pains with that, so the Rams should win by a decent margin on the road.
Pick: Rams
Indianapolis Colts (-3) at Detroit Lions
While the Lions have two wins in a row, their wins have come over the Jaguars and Falcons. The Colts are playing good defense this season and should be able to beat an inferior opponent by at least a touchdown.
Pick: Colts
New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills (-3.5)
While the Bills have struggled lately to play their best football, the Patriots have really struggled. Cam Newton was even pulled from their game against the 49ers. Buffalo’s defense will slow down the Pats and help them cover.
Pick: Bills
Las Vegas Raiders at Cleveland Browns (-2.5)
The Browns just lost Odell Beckham Jr. for the season and they have just one solid win this season, which came over the Colts. Las Vegas has had a tough schedule so far and have played well to reach a 3-3 record. They should be able to go to Cleveland and win the game.
Pick: Raiders
Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers (-6.5)
In week 1, the Packers beat the Vikings by nine. This time around the Packers are at home and the Vikings have likely lost all hopes for a good season. Green Bay will win big.
Pick: Packers
Sunday Evening
Los Angeles Chargers (-3) at Denver Broncos
Denver just lost big time to the Kansas City Chiefs, but they have fought hard, despite all of their injuries. When the Broncos play and average to below average team, they win.
Pick: Broncos
New Orleans Saints (-4) at Chicago Bears
Both of these teams are going through some tough times. The Saints have the drama surrounding Michael Thomas, while the Bears can’t get their offense going. Chicago’s defense will keep the game close.
Pick: Bears
San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks (-3)
The 49ers just have more and more injuries each week. Seattle’s defense has struggled, but Russell Wilson will help them put up enough points to cover.
Pick: Seahawks
Sunday Night
Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles (-7.5)
Dak Prescott is out for the season and Andy Dalton‘s status is in the air for this game. The Cowboys’ offensive line and defense are not good. Philadelphia has their own troubles, but they should be able to win big over a depleted Dallas team.
Pick: Eagles
Monday Night
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-10.5)Â at New York GiantsÂ
The Buccaneers are starting to hit their stride, while the Giants are very turnover prone. Tampa Bay should be able to win and cover on the road.
Pick: Buccaneers
