The Buffalo Bills have released former pro-bowl kicker Stephen Hauschka. This comes as a corresponding move with the release of punter Lachlan Edwards on Thursday. Hauschka was set to make $4 Million this year on the second year of his two-year deal.

The 35-year-old Hauschka has been one of the more successful kickers in the league during his 12 year career. However, over the last two years his field goals made percentage has dropped. He dropped from the mid 90s to high 80s and now finds himself in the high 70s in terms of percentage.
The Bills have one other kicker listed on their roster named Tyler Bass. The rookie Bass was a monster in college hitting on 239 of his 249 field goal attempts for a percentage of 96%. Buffalo News writer Mark Gaughan said that Bass had “intensified” the Bills Kicking competition in last week’s practices. The cutting of Hauschka certainly confirms this.
As for Hauschka there are a number of teams looking for a kicker. Possible landing spots include the Jets, Bucs, Raiders, Rams and as always the Bears. Hauschka has been a staple in the league for a long time so expect to see him on a roster sometime soon.
