Keenum, 32, is an eight-year veteran with starting experience. He has played for the Texans, Rams, Vikings, Broncos and Redskins in his career. Over his time in the NFL, he has thrown for 14,368 yards, 75 touchdowns and 47 interceptions on 62.4 percent completion.
If Mayfield struggles or goes down with injury, Keenum is a capable spot starter. He should also help Mayfield learn the game better over the next few seasons.
