Air Force and South Alabama match-up with each other in the 2016 Arizona Bowl. This game doesn’t have a lot of prospects, but there are some guys who can make NFL rosters. Scouts will be looking for guys who can provide good depth and play on special teams in these type of games. Here are the ones to watch out for:
South Alabama Jaguars
Gerald Everett, TE
Projected Draft Range: Fourth round-sixth round
Everett doesn’t have the greatest size at six feet four inches and 240 pounds, but at the very least could be a big H-back at the next level. His production is really good for a tight end. He has 717 yards on the season. The problem is that he only has four touchdowns on the season. With his size and competition, Everett should have better production in the red zone. If Everett can run a good 40 yard dash time at the combine, he can improve his draft stock. That will help make up for his deficiencies in size and red zone production. Everett will be taken on day three and have a shot to make an NFL team.
Air Force Falcons
Weston Steelhammer, S
Projected Draft Range: Sixth round-undrafted free agent
Steelhammer has great ball skills with six interceptions this season. He had eleven in his career before this season. Steelhammer is a good tackler with 75 total tackles on the season and hits hard. He is good at diagnosing plays and comes up to play the run well. His range and ability to cover will be in question, but he has a solid base to build off. Teams will love his leadership, as a three year starter at the Air Force Academy is highly respected.
