3. Mets: Noah Syndergaard (5-2, 1.84 ERA, 81 SO, 0.96 ERA)
Along with his teammate Steven Matz, everybody knew coming into the year that Noah Syndergaard was a very good pitcher. But, I think they still expected it to be the Matt Harvey/Jacob deGrom show with Syndergaard quietly providing quality starts in the three-slot. They certainly did not get that, as Syndergaard has been one of the best pitchers in all of the MLB so far this year. He can bring the heat whether it’s pitch one or pitch 100, it just doesn’t matter, he’ll find a way to get a guy out. The guy even provided the Mets with a bullpen outing in Tuesday’s loss to the White Sox. His scoreless 7th wasn’t enough, sadly, but the decision alone shows how much faith manager Terry Collins has in the guy. The one thing that still worries me as the season goes on is Syndergaard’s pitch count, if last season is any indicator, then he’ll pitch if New York ends up in the playoffs. Hopefully it won’t lead to any lasting arm troubles for the young pitcher, as he could be a lot of fun to watch in years to come.

Daniel Murphy totally deserves this No. 1 slot. What a wrecking ball! RBIs all over. If only Harper was batting well…
